Yet Another Longwinded Post...

So yeah. I've made yet another TLDR worthy thread on the Warlock forums. All in interest of Affliction and a little procrastinating studying for a test (well...mostly procrastination.../cry I really do my best writing while I'm putting off something else...)

Here it is. Just go read it on the forums. I don't like posting short novels on here, it really clutters the place up!

Tainted Grasp 100% overpowered, Curse of Incompetence looks great

20% proc chance after dodges, parries, spending a large percentage of the fight stunned, etc I don't think is too strong considering how few hits you'll actually get in. But hey, I could be wrong.

My favorite reply there is actually the first one.

"I'm pretty sure spellhaste working on dots wouldn't increase dps much if at all, then you would jst have to reapply them more often."

I have no clue what that person was thinking prior to posting that. Scary.

Ok finally read it. Good stuff.

An affliction talent that adds dmg based of bonus dmg is definitely a must for scaling purposes.

Haste affecting dots makes sense, and allow haste to actually be a desirable stat. Again though, the problem lies with PvP balancing. I don't even want to think about hasted stack of life blooms from a druid hiding behind a pillar. Until they separate Arena mechanics from normal play, I can't see haste affecting dot speed.

Creating tier sets for each talent tree is definitely a good idea. Like Warlocks, our trees benefit from stats differently. Arcane needs less hit than fire/frost and actually uses spirit, where fire/frost use no spirit but need more hit and make better use of crit. I am sure the developers are aware of statistics like this, but probably want to keep the sets all-around for the casual type raiders (who are only concerned with better items of their role in raids), which make up the majority of raiders.

I didn't look at the talents, but how about a stacking spell that increases affliction spells by a %, like 2/4/6/8/10. It would be similar to a scorch that has to be applied within 30 seconds or so. Or maybe a spell that stacks on the boss up to 5 times and acts as a charge. Every time you cast an affliction spell, that spell's dmg is increased by 10% and consumes a charge. Just something to replace the shadowbolt filler time with roughly the same potential damage, but doesn't have to rely on Destro lock's imrpoved shadowbolt buff for reasonable dps.

lol. The 51pt Affliction talent is actually a *low coefficient* stacking DoT(like a 15 second mini curse of doom) that also increases all DoT damage(bleeds, ignite ticks, everything) stacks up to 5 times. You should check it out!
