Finished Atlas Shrugged

So I finished Atlas Shrugged. Actually, I finished it a couple weeks ago but forgot to write anything about it. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who identifies themselves as (fiscally) conservative. It's definitely the longest single book I've ever read, and I'll admit it had some rather dull parts to it including a 50 page speech I read only 30 pages of, but I feel I gained a lot out of reading it and if you can dedicate the time to reading it you will too.

Heh, I tried reading Atlas Shrugged when you mentioned it a few months back. Damn that book is long! I got about 100 pages in and just couldn't handle it anymore. Maybe sometime in the future when I don't have anything better to do than read a dictionary's worth of text. There is a Atlas Shrugged movie coming out. Angelina Jolie supposed to be in it (she would make a good Dagny).

The books I have read since I dropped that have been:

The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene

Physics of the Impossible by Michio Kaku

The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins

I know, mostly science jargon, but they were very interesting. Especially Physics of the Impossible. It came out last month, so most of the science described in it is the newest out there.
